Service Manager

Position Overview:

Responsible for the daily operation of the Milliken Service Department 

Job Description:

Major Job Functions:

 

Safety Leadership

·        Lead, demonstrate and champion a healthy and safe work environment ensuring that all safety standards, policies, procedures and compliance requirements are communicated, implemented and followed.

·        Lead and participate in regular scheduled safety meetings

·        Ensure that employees maintain the appropriate safety training required for their position

 

People Leadership

·        Responsible for the day-to-day leadership of staff, including recruitment and selection, orientation, coaching and mentoring, employee engagement, performance feedback and supporting growth and development opportunities.

  • Conduct performance conversations and provide regular feedback to technicians

 

Quality- Service right the first time

  • Ensuring that tooling, parts and technical issues are dealt with promptly so it doesn’t impact out customer service commitment

·        Ensures that the technicians time is spent efficiently and is documented via a service report

·        Repair process management

·        Understand the warranty process and determine warrantable failure and determine 3rd party requirements and availability if required

 

Quantity– Manage productivity

  • Manage and measure technician productivity
  • Manage and determine manpower availability, allocate technicians as required and assign additional technicians if required
  • Provide insight and guidance by assigning work priorities to technicians where applicable by overseeing jobs for work quality and productivity

 

Knowledge

·        Financial acumen to understand and interpret associated KPIs related to branch profitability

  • Strong understanding of PMC’s warranty process, policies and procedures
  • Strong understanding of Komatsu’s Policy process, process and procedures
  • Understanding of the applicable OSHA safety rules

·        Strong understanding of equipment PMC distributes:

o   Komatsu

o   KPI-JCI

o   Astec

o   Takeuchi

o   Sakai

o   Roadtec

o   Sandvik

o   Morbark

  • Accountable for the safety and well-being for all employees assigned to you
  • Demonstrated leadership and engagement of assigned employees that is support by developing and leading an effective team, fostering a positive work environment and setting clear expectations that successfully contributes to effective and efficient service repair work completion, achievement of operational and strategic targets and goals, customer satisfaction, loyalty and deliver of Power Motive Corporation’s Customer Service Commitment.
  • Accountable for ensuring quality on-going performance conversations and the formal review to be completed with all employees by the anniversary date.

·        Ensure cores are returned and credited and all necessary information for warranty is included.

  • Ensure completion of daily timecards for all employees on shift and ensure this information is complete and accurate

·        Financial – Lost time, promotion, Service Rework / Warranty, Shop Clean up, Tool Maintenance, Variance

 

Experience:

·        Minimum of 5 to 10 years of management experience with heavy earthmoving equipment.

·        Competent in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

·        The desire to lead and manage people

·        Effective leadership / supervisory skills

·        Strong business acumen

·        Reads, analyzes and interprets complex documents. (Electric schematics, drawings)

·        Recognizes and maintains confidentiality of information

Rental Coordinator

Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: Denver - Headquarters (Denver, CO)

Description: Facilitate the rental of equipment and attachments by arranging availability, executing and revising contracts, invoicing, tracking inventory, and coordinating the return process.

Responsibilities:

1. Create and monitor rental contracts, make changes as required, manage invoicing, close contracts, verify accuracy, and manage completed signatures. Verify customer account and insurance status.

2. Process equipment requests from sales and other sources by matching and prioritizing available inventory with requests.

3. Maintain accurate inventory records by confirming actual equipment information and updating / auditing system transactions.  

4. Coordinate maintenance needs of inbound and outbound equipment with Fleet & Operations Manager 

5. Coordinate equipment transportation with Sales staff, customers, and Service,  to ensure delivery commitments are met cost effectively. 

6. Maintain equipment inventory levels appropriate for local needs by monitoring demand trends and reservations, then working with the Fleet and Operations Manger.  

Requirements:

1. College Degree or equivalent preferred, and be proficient in the four basic functions of math.

2. Be able to professionally communicate verbally and in writing. 

3. Work under pressure and high stress, and interact successfully with a wide variety of personalities and backgrounds.

4. Have a basic knowledge and ability in EXCEL, WORD, email, and electronic file management.  Be able to work with databases to search, locate, maintain, and interpret information. 

5. Be able to work outdoors, be physically capable of climbing on machines and some operation. 

6. Possess a valid driver’s license. 

7. Prefer some experience with equipment or rentals. 

Service Tech

Location: Denver - Headquarters (Denver, CO)

Description: The Service Technicians at PMC are responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and performing scheduled maintenance on equipment based on customer needs and requirements. This position is best for individuals that are dedicated to customer satisfaction, professional, timely, and protect the brand name and company image.

  1. Locate the issue swiftly upon interacting with the customer and communicating well with everyone involved to insure the problem is understood completely
  2. Uses their expertise to analyze and diagnose the equipment and understand what modifications and repairs need to be made
  3. Recommend the correct service and repairs to the customer and show where the failure is
  4. Accurately and neatly document all work on the work order including hour meter readings, serial numbers, model numbers and all information asked for and make sure the customer or representative signs
  5. Keep a record of all comments, compliments, complaints, and suggestions and turn them into management so appropriate action is taken
  6. Maintain the company service vehicle in a clean and orderly, hazard-free, manner and making sure service vehicle is in safe operating condition
  7. Observes all safety procedures both from company and customer’s safety procedures and make certain all hazardous waste is appropriately taken care of

Qualifications:

  1. Effectively communicates with customers, co-workers, and PMC
  2. Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge
  3. Ability to understand the necessary service and training manuals
  4. Knowledgeable about the industry and current to make sound recommendations to customers
  5. Can safely operate power tools such as: lifts, hoists, hydraulic jacks, and overhead cranes Ability to perform strenuous and heavy work, can exert force up to 100 pounds on occasion and frequently handle loads to 50 pounds
  6. Must have the physical stamina to perform continuously with full body motion for climbing, reaching, pushing, lifting and reaching, etc.
